There is no uncertainty being an OFW (Walang Katiyakan Sa Pagiging OFW)
You have sacrificed everything when you decided to work abroad. but unfortunately, something unexpected and unwanted happened. You’ve been abused and left almost dead. Yes you’ve been lucky to be brought to the hospital. But your worries added up when you don’t know where to get the money to pay for your hospital bill. This may be one of the worst thing that you wouldn’t wish to happen to you while you’re working abroad, away from your loved-ones.
Take the case of a male overseas Filipino worker in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who was gang-raped last May by five unidentified male while travelling King Abdullah Road on his way home. The OFW was molested, and left for dead in the desert
Though the OFW is alive, he now worries about how to pay his hospital bill that already escalated to an amount of SR 250,000 or almost Php 2,970,000. The OFW’s medical insurance had declined to pay the bill because he had failed to inform them about his case.
The OFW had already call upon the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for help, but to no avail. This response prompted the OFW to seek help from other OFWs all over the world and the Philippine government itself through his social media account.
Fortunately, a good-hearted OFW named Maricel Erasga Tunacao who is based in Al-Qaseem, had seen his plead and is now trying to gather support for him. Tunacao said that she pitied his fellow OFWs situation and had also reached to the Philippine Embassy to help him.
Pinapakita sa kwento na ito na tunay ngang walang katiyakan ang pagiging OFW. Ibang pakikipagsapalaran ang tinataya ng bawat OFW, at hindi basta basta ang pagkakaroon ng desisyon na ganun.
This also simply shows na never,ever kang makakampante sa anumang OPPORTUNITY na naghihintay sayo sa ibang bansa. Dahil wala talagang pinipiling oras,kasarian,lugar at tao ang masamang pwedeng mangyari sa'yo.
What can I advice to you are the following:
1. Always have FAITH in our Lord, ask for guidance,strength and courage, at kahit ano pa man ang ating pagdaaan,still He always knew the answers.
2. from our OFWs out there, magkaroon pa rin ng doble o tripleng ingat kung saan mang bansa kayo naroroon.
3. Maghanap ng ibang possibleng paraan paano kumita. Maliban sa iyong trabaho,may mga possibleng paraan na halos ginagawa na rin ng iba,kung paanong kumita kahit nasa bahay ka lang at kahit mahina ka sa technical skills,gamit ang Internet.
